Health insurance

Health Insurance is compulsory

The Health Insurance shall cover all Schengen countries, the whole period of stay and for a minimum of Euro 30.000,-. Passport with granted visa will only be handed out when health insurance is proven or seen in original at the Embassy.
12/07/2007 :: According to a decision made by the European Union, everyone who is granted a Schengen visa must have a Medical Travel Insurance Policy as of 1st June 2004. This means that the applicant must be able to prove that he has a valid, personal travel insurance policy which covers the following costs in the Schengen Area:
•  Emergency Medical Treatment
•  Urgent Ambulance Transportation
•  Transportation back to the applicant’ s home country if required for medical reasons
•  The Insurance should cover expenses of minimum of Euro 30.000.-
Applicants who travel to the Schengen Area must also bring the insurance policies (originals) together with their passports, as they might be asked to present these paper/documents on any Schengen border.
