The Second Norwegian Aid Coordination Meeting

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Macedonia hosted the second Norwegian Aid Coordination Meeting. The aim of the conference was to tie Norwegian implementing partners closer together allowing them to gain a wider understanding of each others fields and to exchange views and experiences.

The conference built on the good response from the previous conference, and collected around 40 participants that represented a broad cross-section of Norwegian aid to Macedonia. Among the organisations represented were;

  • Secretariat For European Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia,
  • United Nations Development Progamme in Macedonia,
  • SINTEF Industrial Management,
  • Royal Norwegian Society of Agriculture Norges Vel,
  • Macedonian Centre for Energy Efficiency MACEF,
  • Citizen's Association "Horizonti" Skopje,
  • Norwegian Church Aid,
  • UNICEF,
  • UNHCR,
  • IOM,
  • WHO,
  • The Norwegian Aid Committee NORWAC,
  • Norwegian People’s Aid,
  • Nansen Dialogue Centre,
  • Civil Organisation SIGNO Association and
  • The MARITA foundation Oslo, Norway.

 The discussion demonstrated that Norwegian aid is essential to promote Macedonia’s ambition towards Euro-Atlantic integration. The Norwegian projects have been  well received and in many respects tied Norway and Macedonia closer together, both on a national as well as local level.
