The Norwegian Government has for many years been a strong supporter of Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration process. Numerous projects to this end have been sponsored by my country. We believe that full Macedonian integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures can bring sustainable stability, growth and development to this part of Europe. This is in the interest of all of us.

We are happy to have made available Norwegian expertise for several of the projects, coordinated by the Secretariat for European Affairs. In the training project, which we are symbolically addressing today, the Norwegian company “Competence” has contributed. I trust that the cooperation between all stakeholders, Macedonian and Norwegians alike, has been smooth and constructive.

I know that the Secretariat and others will make good use of the new training centre. We consider it to be a new building block in Macedonia’s path towards NATO and the European Union.
