Asylum applications from Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro are to be processed within 48 hours

We regard Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro as safe countries, and applicants from these countries rarely need protection in Norway, states Hanne Jendal, director of the asylum section of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration.

“We have already detected an increase of asylum seekers from the mentioned countries and it is important to stress that persons from these countries will have their application processed within 48 hours, followed by expulsion and transport by the police after receiving an asylum rejection.”
