Norwegian scientists discover ”the missing link”

05/06/2009 :: The fossil is so well preserved that it is possible to distinguish the imprint of fur, and even the remains of gut contents. A team of scientists headed by Jørn Hurum of the Oslo Natural History Museum presented the fossil in New York. They believe that it is the earliest primate fossil ever found.

The agenda will focus on carbon capture and storage (CCS), a technology that could prove crucial if the world is to achieve necessary cuts in global greenhouse gas emissions. +

Piano Success on Top of the World!

04/06/2009 :: The very first ”Top of the World International Piano Competition” takes place in Tromsø between the 14th and 19th of June 2009. But the competition is already a success even before it starts due to the sensational and ”all time high” interest from all over the world: A total of 361 applicants from 56 different countries is by far a world record for any new piano competition. The contestants are between 17 and 35 years of age and they are all outstanding and marvelous pianists. +

The award marked the end of three days of festivities in connection with the prize. +
